How to get Motivated.... and STAY Motivated!

Good day to you all....

I know this one has been tackled many times in the past,
but it's a question I have certainly been asked on a regular basis!

"Manny, How can I get motivated to do .....?
More importantly, How can I STAY motivated?"

So, I got thinking... What get's Manny motivated?
What is it that I do, when I need to get the show back on the road,
or get some fire under my A$$?

Here are the Step's I came up with:

Focus on 1 CLEAR goal at a time!
Convert Procrastination into Motivation.
Understand the journey of the attainment of your desired goals.

How do you make your Head and your Heart work together?
Great question comes from one of my Facebook friends. Here is my answer:

First, you must understand how they work separately.

The nature of the mind is that it conceptualizes, organizes and compares information. It does this as best it can and says, “Here are the facts, here are both sides of the story.” It is about logic. To the mind, it simply must make sense.

The heart on the other hand, is like a compass - its purpose is to guide the direction our lives should take. Our heart holds a bird's eye view on our life and says, “This is where you’re at and this is the direction you need to go.” It doesn't need to know the path, its main purpose is to see your final destination.

If we compare our mind and heart to a courtroom, our mind would be the defendant and the plaintiff (both stories) and our heart would be justice or the judge (the right direction). The reason we’re so troubled by this conflict of head vs heart is that the mind is not only playing the prosecutor and the defense, but has take over the role of the judge as well. The mind should never be the judge. The mind's job is to compare and contrast. To sort things out and say “this is what I’ve got, here are some possibilities, do what you want with it.” But more often than not, our mind isn’t doing that. It is making and taking our choices.

I believe that the only reason our minds consistently overstep their boundaries, is simply because we have not yet clearly defined it's responsibilities and it's role within our person (our body). The mind is just like a computer. Once it understands it's task, it can and will become an extremely powerful tool in the attainment of your desires.

So, how do you make your heart and mind work together? Be aware of their distinct, yet natural obligations. Although, because this is something new, and for so long, we have been wrongly conditioned... we need to start by consciously monitoring and mediating their actions, until it becomes natural. Your mind is an outstanding tool, yet only a tool. Just like the hammer shouldn't control it's destination, your hand should.

Let your mind make sense of the steps to your heart's desires ;-)
(Please reread the previous line until you completely understand it. IT IS THE KEY!)

The importants of relationships!

Here's something important. Relationships!

Make it a MUST to connect with a friend everyday. I truly believe that the quality of your life is directly related with the quality of your relationships. Nothing feels better then knowing you are well surrounded during those darker days. Fortunately for us, with todays technology, it has never been easier to connect with your friends, or create new ones. Take 5 minutes out of your busy schedule and send an email to someone you haven't connected with in sometime.

Remind them of the good old days, and how much you enjoyed their presence. Compliment their recent achievements, as little or big as they may be.

I may be insane and but guys, trust me on this one. Try it for 14 days.

Just that can easily make you feel like a million dollars!

Here's the task: Everyday, select a friend you haven't contacted in forever, and tell them how much they were appreciated, how much fun you had with them, some amazing things you can remember about this person, and congratulate them on at least one thing they have accomplished lately.

Today wasn't as productive as I would have liked, but still a successful day. It's great to have the opportunity to accomplish all your daily goals and everything on your to-do list, but an important question you should ask yourself before going to bed is, "What kind of a friend was I today (or parent, or lover, or boss, or neighbor, or human being)"

Being a great friend makes your day a success, no matter how much or how little you get accomplished.

Tomorrow, I am starting with our new company... Sells training, getting back with old office people! Should be tons of exciting stuff.

Also very excited about the project with Mathieu Tanguay and E2Connect. Great company looking into creating a huge educational community and resource for small and medium businesses.

E2Connect is developing an Empowered Entrepreneur division that I would love to manage. This would mean, Manny speaking about motivation, goal setting, business development, momentum to business owners!

Man would I every be in heaven! Wish me luck all.

I posted an HIV video on YouTube about 2 weeks ago, and YouTube featured it in it's top results. Therefore it got a lot of exposure for a good week. From that, I have been receiving emails after emails from folks going through a rough time with life.

Here is what I have to say:

To all you fighters out there,

No one will tell you how long you have to live, ever! You need to use this obstacle to your advantage. It's in times like these that people grow the most! All your life you have been faced with options, but your decisions have not had much impact on you nor have you placed much importance on them. Now, because of the weight of the situation, once you take/make a decision (of how you will handle the news) you will literally be propelled to your destination! No matter the results, you can give up on life early, cry and get depress (and to be honest, this is what most people do, simply because it's easier)... OR you can decide to start making the best out of everyday!

What if I told you that tomorrow was your last day alive... how would you live today? Your stories have all really touched me. Even though I feel many of you are weak now... somewhere inside, you have this unbelievable force. The same one that allows you to do the impossible for your children, or loved ones. That force is there... and you are allowed to use it on yourself. I feel it in my heart that you are all truly incredible people. I see folks everyday going through similar situations, and believe me when I say it's all a mind game. Grab control, because you can.

Remember that it's not and never will be about when you die (because that can happen anytime!)... it's about what you do everyday that counts. This is your opportunity to create as many special moments as possible. Your a magical human being, I can feel it! Do more magic, create more smiles! and even if you die tomorrow, you will leave the happiest person on Earth knowing you made the best out of every moment.
